Kate PeperBorn and raised in Minnesota, Kate Peper moved to California's Bay Area in 1994 to pursue a career in animation. The CD-ROM business was then at its height and she was fortunate enough to have worked for some of the best-known companies in the industry: Broderbund, Lucas Learning, Presage and Leap Frog.
As the educational software market softened in the early 2000's, Kate turned her attention more toward design and painting. She began by making and selling her own greeting cards and then entering the California School of Professional Fabric Design in Berkeley, CA. Surface design, whether on a Kleenex box, a tablecloth, greeting cards or rugs was a whole new and exciting world. Here she was given a chance to hand-paint designs, hone her computer skills and eventually become a designer for the custom rug and carpet company Edward Fields/Taping Carpets. Her work can be seen in yachts, private jets, vacation homes, estates and hotels around the world. After more than a year as a rug designer, she has moved on to freelance design and exhibiting her watercolors locally.
When not doing artwork, Kate enjoys writing poetry and hiking in the beautiful Marin hills with her husband and two Samoyeds.
